Sing, You Sinners from 1938. Gambling Crosby couldn't face accountability, despite of jabbing his sibling MacMurray. Three siblings with diverse interests have a singing act. Can the other two brothers save the day when the gambling sibling bets on a "sure thing"? Includes Wesley Ruggles, Bing Crosby, Fred MacMurray, Donald O'Connor, Elizabeth Patterson, Ellen Drew, and John Gallaudet.

The Meteor Man from 1993. Townsend plays a tentative, nerdy school teacher with a fear of heights who gets hit by an peculiar emerald meteor that turns him into a superhero. Impressive "Superman in the Hood" story, complete of good values, but very few actually hilarious minutes. Cast includes Robert Townsend, Marla Gibbs, Eddie Griffin, Robert Guillaume, James Earl Jones, Roy Fegan, and Bill Cosby.

From 1982 came Danny Boy. Ambitious even if arrogant, unrelentingly tedious melodrama of sax player Rea, who trades his sax for a gun after observing a triple assassination. This was Jordan's directorial introduction, which he furthermore did the screenplay. He and leading guy Rea later reteamed for The Weeping Game.
