For anyone who is a working parent, or even if you aren't working but are still a parent, we all understand the difficulty of managing time with our family with our other responsibilities. This is particularly true when it comes to a working mother or father working a regular job, working from home or having to work on a fly in fly out basis or any other type of work.
With our family, we have my husband who works away one week one, then one off. Then there is myself a home business owner. Both of us struggle to keep a happy medium between our work and having quality time with each other and our four young children.
Even when my husband is home, he is constantly constructing or renovating or some other project. It can be like he's not here even when he is her. To be honest, we both struggle to spend quality time with each other and the children some times. Not to say that we don't really enjoy time with our kids when we make the time to do something with them that they love to do.
Advice for anyone who is in a situation anything like this or anything not like this, but still has a struggle making that balance. Make sure you assign time to only spend with your family during the week or on weekends doing something with them that is just about them. Save work for the week days if possible and try not to work on weekends when you can be spending time with your family and just having a bit of leisure time.
No matter what your situation is, try to keep or get back a balance of career and family, because some of us really can't have one without the other but have trouble doing both. Children especially need us a lot as they are growing up and our partners don't wish to be forgotten either! It really doesn't take any extraordinary effort to get a balance, just a bit of thought and planning and consideration of others. Think about it.
